The Utah Genealogical and Historical Magazine, Volume 11:

'
Mound Fort (North Weber Stake), Weber County, Utah, was a farming district situated north of the Ogden River, and named as early as 1853 from the fact that a fort built as a protection against the Indians was erected near a mound or a long hill extending north and south between what is now Tenth and Twelfth streets, of Ogden City, [Utah].  It is immediately west of Washington Avenue.
